Friday 29 August 2025 the Port of Cattolica will host the re-enactment of traditional 'tratta' fishing

The Casa del Pescatore Cooperative of Cattolica invites you to discover and relive a centuries-old tradition: the re-enactment of traditional fishing "alla tratta". A group of elderly fishermen will guide the young volunteers, illustrating the operations of this ancient fishing technique, involving the public present in a fascinating journey into the past.

The event will take place along a stretch of coastline to the west of the fishing dock of the Port of Cattolica, with the use of a small net restored by the oldest sailors and a traditional "moscone a remi" type boat.

A unique opportunity to learn about the fishing class, the practices and knowledge of seafaring, recovering precious iconographic and documentary evidence.
